Continuing the area's maritime tradition, the Quoddy Loop's center is connected by a series of car ferries (all Canadian operations), one foot ferry, and one water taxi (US operations). These vessels transport travelers among the five principal islands (Campobello Island, Deer Island, Grand Manan, and White Head Island) and the mainland of New Brunswick, plus foot-traffic-only between Lubec, Maine and Eastport (Moose Island). Moose Island and Campobello Island are both connected to the Maine mainland--Moose Island to Sipayik (Pleasant Point Passamaquoddy Reservation) by tidal dike causeways, and Campobello Island by the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Bridge ("international bridge") to Lubec.
While Campobello Island and Eastport are now connected to the mainland of Maine by bridge or causeways, they maintain their link to their sister islands in the summer months. Doing so provides easier connections with friends, family, and neighbors, facilitates commerce, and provides a fun, refreshing, and relaxing experience on the water.
As a bonus, ferry & water taxi travel in the Quoddy Loop frequently results in sighting seabirds, porpoise and dolphins, seals, and an occasional whale!
Maine is on Eastern Time (ET). 
New Brunswick is on Atlantic Time (AT).The Canadian-run ferries operate on Atlantic Time (AT), which is one hour ahead of Eastern Time (ET). (NOTE: 1:00 pm AT = Noon ET). Both New Brunswick and Maine observe Daylight Saving Time. When planning your crossing be sure to calculate the time correctly; otherwise, you may miss the last ferry of the day.

ALSO REQUIRED when traveling to Canada is ADVANCE FILING (within 72 hours of arrival into Canada) via the ArriveCAN app. The US-run foot ferry between Lubec, Maine, and Eastport, Maine, and the water taxi operate on Eastern Time (ET).

On Grand Manan, during busy periods, you may need to park in line a day ahead of departure (and move up in line with each departure--ask locally about departure conditions), to ensure passage. The only reservations allowed are one day in advance, and only on trips departing from Grand Manan (not from Blacks Harbour). To make reservations, call 506-662-3724 and select the "advance ticket" menu.
