Captain Cates B&B Stay in our comfortable 1850s sea captain's house overlooking the water! Each of our six bedrooms is unique! All have shared baths, and all but one have water views. We have two dining rooms (summer and winter), a front parlor overlooking the water, and a cozy fireplace to sit around in the sitting room. We're very near the location where the first naval battle of the American Revolution was fought between the British ship Margaretta and the victorious American sloop Unity. And we're just a few hundred feet from is the Gates House Museum. Puffin and seal watching cruises, and whale watching tours leave from Cutler, just a short drive from here. Bald eagles and hawks frequent the area. And, we're just an hour from Ellsworth, the Canadian border, the Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park. Come. Stay for a while. Explore a little. Make new friends. And, take home some great memories! Season: Open all year. |
