We're very near the location where the first naval battle of the American Revolution was fought between the British ship Margaretta and the victorious American sloop Unity. And we're just a few hundred feet from is the Gates House Museum.

Originally built in 1816, the Main House has been renovated to combine the rustic charm of hand-hewn beams and the modern conveniences of private baths and electric heat.

Antique Shaker furniture, an extensive library, and a large fireplace grace the shared livingroom.

The Inn includes three bedrooms--named after long-time Whale Cove Guests (Miss Eloise Derby's Room, Miss Henrietta Quigley's Room, and Sally's Attic)--with private bath and private entrance, and offer water accommodations from two to three guests in each.

The Owen House is a large historic colonial inn on a headland overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay. The old house still has much of its origional construction and furniture, and quilts and fireplaces which add warmth and charm. We are famous for our breakfasts and beautiful location.

Built (circa 1775) on Todd's Head during the Revolutionary War, the Todd House is a classic New England full cape with massive center chimney and a unique "good morning" staircase.

In 1801, in what is now a guest room, Eastern Lodge No. 7 of the Masonic Order was chartered; cornerstone marks the event.

Breakfast is served in the common room before a huge fireplace and bake oven, in surroundings reminiscent of the revolutionary era.

The Todd House, owned by a local historian and educator, has in its library many volumes of local history.

Its rooms are furnished with period antiques and enhanced by a collection of local historic artifacts.

The spacious yard, with its cook-out facilities, affords an ever-changing view of the bay and its islands. Glorious sunrises and sunsets enhance the natural beauty of the area.
